1. Online Program Terms & Conditions

Who owns the course materials at Samyut Yoga and how can I use them?

Direct Answer: All course manuals, videos, layouts, and logos are the intellectual property of Samyut Yoga. They are restricted strictly for your personal, non-commercial educational use. Downloading, copying, or reproducing them without prior written consent from the Founder is strictly prohibited.

All online programs organized by Samyut Yoga are owned by Samyut Yoga. By accessing the content, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions in its entirety without any modifications whatsoever. You are not permitted to use or access Samyut Yoga if you do not agree to any of these terms. The Content may only be used for your personal, non-commercial use. Except for this, you agree not to download, copy, reproduce, modify, store, archive, show in public, redistribute or commercially exploit in any way any part of the content. You agree not to use the Content for any illegal or improper purpose, nor for any purpose which might infringe the rights of others.

Is physical fitness required for online yoga classes at Samyut Yoga?

Direct Answer: Yes, participants must be physically, vitally, and mentally fit. By registering, you voluntarily accept the inherent risks of injury involved in physical yoga activities. Pregnant individuals, those recovering from surgery, or people taking heavy medication must consult a qualified medical practitioner before joining.

You hereby acknowledge that you are physically, vitally and mentally fit to participate in the classes and are aware that in participating in the physical activities of Samyut Yoga, there is a risk or possibility of injury and you explicitly and voluntarily accept these inherent risks. You should not participate in any of the physical or vital activities if you are suffering from any illness. If you are pregnant or under medication, you should seek the advice of a qualified medical practitioner before participating in the classes. It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not perform any activity which exceeds your limits or capabilities.

2. Booking, Payments & Registrations

How is my enrollment confirmed at Samyut Yoga?

Direct Answer: Enrolment is confirmed only after the complete program fee is received. The initial registration deposit only secures and blocks a seat in the course, but does not guarantee participation without complete payment.

Your participation in the program is confirmed only after the complete program fee is paid. Samyut Yoga cannot guarantee your participation in any of the programs without receiving the complete payment for any of the programs. The initial registration fee paid if any, only confirms blocking of one seat/space in the teacher training/workshop/retreat. Late registration depends on the availability of seats.

What documents do I need to submit for offline programs?

Direct Answer: Trainees must submit valid identification documents, including a photocopy of their Passport and valid Visa (or OCI card for international students), before the course initiation ceremony begins.

Trainee identification such as a photocopy of Passport and Visa must be provided before the initiation ceremony in case of offline/residential programs. In addition, all participants attending our workshops, Teacher Training and other offline programs are required to hold comprehensive travel and medical insurance for the duration of their training.

Does Samyut Yoga share my contact details with Yoga Alliance USA?

Direct Answer: Yes, by submitting the registration form, you consent to your name and email address being passed onto our partner, Yoga Alliance USA. They will contact you directly to invite you to register as a Trainee and Teacher. You have the option to opt out of this registration process.

Samyut Yoga takes strict care of the privacy of students. We do not share any of your information with anyone besides the registration bodies such as Yoga Alliance USA. For details, please refer to our GDPR-compliant privacy structures and Yoga Alliance registry policies.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

What is Samyut Yoga's refund policy for Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC) cancellations?

Direct Answer: If you cancel **60 days or more** before the course start date, both the registration and course fees paid are refundable, minus a **25% cancellation charge** and applicable taxes. Cancellations requested **within 60 days** of the start date are strictly non-refundable.

Where a participant cancels the registration for the teacher training for any reason at least 60 days before the day the training begins, both the registration fee & course fee are refundable (whatever is paid) after the deduction of 25% as cancellation charges + taxes. No refund is applicable when the student decides to leave the training for any reason after it commences.

What is the cancellation policy for retreats and workshops?

Direct Answer: For workshops, retreats, and non-TTC programs, refunds are eligible if requested **at least 15 days before** the program start date. Any fee paid will be refunded minus a **25% cancellation charge** and taxes. Requests within 15 days are non-refundable.

Where a participant cancels the registration for any of the other programs other than teacher training for any reason at least 15 days before the day of the program begins, any fee paid is refundable after the deduction of 25% as cancellation charges + taxes.

Can I transfer my Yoga Teacher Training registration to a future batch?

Direct Answer: Yes, registration is transferable to a future course if requested **at least 30 days prior** to the start date:

  • 60+ Days notice: Transfer is free under exceptional circumstances.
  • 30 to 59 Days notice: Transfer costs an additional **10% Transfer Fee** of the registration rate + taxes.
  • Within 30 Days: Transfers are strictly not permitted.

If the student is unable to participate in the teacher training training, the fee can be transferable to a future course under exceptional circumstances if requested any time before 60 days to the beginning of the teacher training course. One can transfer the paid amount to any future course. However, the transfer of the registration is not possible if requested within the last 30 days. The transfer of the registration to a future course requested 30 to 59 days before the start costs an additional 10% of the registration fee + taxes.

What happens if Samyut Yoga cancels a training program?

Direct Answer: If Samyut Yoga cancels a Teacher Training, workshop, or retreat, you will receive a **100% refund** of all fees paid, or you can choose to transfer to an alternative scheduled program.

In the unlikely event that a program is canceled by Samyut Yoga, then 100% of the payment will be refunded, or an alternative program placement will be offered. Please note that this does not apply to cancellations caused by external exceptional circumstances such as international conflicts, pandemics, travel bans, or natural disasters.

What happens if a yoga training is interrupted midway due to emergencies?

Direct Answer: If the training is interrupted or abandoned:

  • After the mid-way point (50%+ completed): No refunds are issued.
  • Before the mid-way point (Under 50% completed): No cash refund is issued, but you will receive a credit to re-register for future training, paying only a minimal rate for food and accommodation.

If a training, workshop or retreat must be abandoned or interrupted due to exceptional circumstances, there will not be a refund if more than half of the training has been completed (start and finish dates inclusive). However, if the training is canceled due to exceptional circumstances before the mid-way, the participants will be able to re-register for future training with a minimum payment for the food and accommodation. Samyut Yoga accepts no responsibility for transportation costs if training, workshops or retreats are canceled.

4. Media Consent & Intellectual Property

Does Samyut Yoga use student photos and videos for promotion?

Direct Answer: Yes, Samyut Yoga reserves the right to capture photos and videos during training, workshops, and retreats to share on social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) and the official website. By enrolling, you grant full permission for this. You can opt-out by notifying us in writing.

Pictures taken during training, workshops, retreats, webinars or classes may be used in a promotional capacity. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, participants give full permission for this information to be released. If participants are uncomfortable with this, please make this explicitly known to the registration desk via email. Samyut Yoga may contact participants in the future about upcoming events and opportunities using trainee contact details.

Can students share training videos and photos on social media?

Direct Answer: Photos and videos captured by students during training are for **personal study and learning purposes only**. Sharing this content with third parties or utilizing it for financial/commercial gain without Samyut Yoga's written permission is strictly prohibited.

Samyut Yoga retains no liability for the use of pictures or videos taken by participants of the training, the teachers or other trainees. All manuals, website layouts, trademarks, logos, and digital graphics are the exclusive property of Samyut Yoga.

5. Code of Conduct

What is the code of conduct for students at Samyut Yoga?

Direct Answer: Students are expected to treat teachers, staff, and peers with absolute respect, courtesy, and integrity. Disciplinary action or immediate expulsion without refund applies for:

  • Verbal or physical abuse.
  • Theft or damage to school/facility property.
  • Harassment (sexual or otherwise) or intimidation.
  • Possession of illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons on premises.

Samyut Yoga strives to provide an environment conducive to learning, growth, and professionalism. Students are expected to behave courteously and respectfully, observe Samyut Yoga policies, and devote themselves earnestly to their studies both online and offline. The grounds for disciplinary action and possible dismissal from the program include: verbal/physical abuse, theft, property damage, obstruction of academic processes, possession of drugs/alcohol/weapons, and sexual harassment.

Are mobile phones allowed during yoga classes?

Direct Answer: Smartphones and tablets may only be used inside the classroom to record photos or videos of postures if explicitly permitted by the teacher for learning. Using mobile devices to **browse the internet or check social media during classes is strictly forbidden**.

The usage of gadgets during the classes to take pictures and videos is allowed. The use of the smartphone, I-phone, I-pad, Tablet, or Mobile to browse the internet is forbidden during offline classes.

Is attendance mandatory for certification at Samyut Yoga?

Direct Answer: Yes. Attendance in all scheduled sessions is mandatory. The Yoga Alliance certification is conditional on complete attendance and participation. Being absent without prior permission from the teaching staff is grounds for dismissal.

Being Absent from any of the sessions without prior permission from the teachers is prohibited. The course is intensive and all the sessions are mandatory. The programs at Samyut Yoga are not a retreat but an intensive learning program.

6. Student Grievance & Legal Jurisdiction

How can a student file a complaint or grievance at Samyut Yoga?

Direct Answer: If you experience any harassment, administrative issues, or disputes, you have a right to file a formal complaint directly with the Head of the Institute, the Founder (Yogacharya Aravind Prasad), or through designated legal authorities in Mysore.

The Grievance Procedure outlines the student’s right to file a complaint with the Head of the Institute or Founder or with the concerned Legal Authorities. All queries, disputes, and grievances are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mysore, Karnataka, India.
